Arrived at Mont Saint Michel
Every since I studied in France in 2008, Mont Saint Michel has been on my mother’s and my wishlist to visit. Even though I’ve seen many photos, Mont Saint Michel still took my breath away when I saw it in person.
According to Normandy Tourism, “A magical island topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery, the Mont-Saint-Michel counts among France’s most stunning sights. For centuries one of Europe’s major pilgrimage destinations, this holy mount is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay.”
On our way to Mont Saint Michel from Courseulles-sur-Mer, we really wanted to find a roadside restaurant and were happy to discover Le Guilberville in Guilberville. It’s a no frills, inexpensive restaurant filled with truck drivers and locals. I wouldn’t say it’s the best food, but it’s worth it for the experience!

Le Guilberville

With my meal I could choose cola, wine or a local cider – little did I know I’d receive an entire liter!!

Ham and potatoes for me

Gigantic hamburger baguette for Koen

Cheers!

My huge cheese platter – and I do mean my cheese platter – this entire plate was put in front of me and came with my meal!

Happy to have arrived and have sunshine at Mont Saint Michel
