Last Sunday we celebrated Els’ birthday in Antwerp. We started out with drinks at the winebar Baravin, followed by Italian at La Tarantella.

Baravin

Inside Baravin
La Tarantella, a Neapolitan restaurant, is a 2 minute walk from Baravin. I selected the restaurant based on a recommendation from a colleague and his enthusiastic experiences with their pizzas and calzones. At La Tarantella, they bake with a beautiful wood oven brought over from Naples.

Koen’s yummy Neapolitan pizza – we asked about the greens on top of the pizza, but all the waitress could tell us is that the vegetable is imported from Naples and is not ready available in Belgium

My delicious calzone with sausage, ham, basil, and mozzarella di bufala
I googled Neapolitan: http://www.google.be/imgres?imgurl=http://www.neapolitan.com/7wk5.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.neapolitan.com/&h=480&w=640&sz=37&tbnid=T1UzXVUcmQexEM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=120&zoom=1&usg=__SqI5-UbDvr4pBkJ84_jiblGzpp8=&docid=K8DZm4hF8vaJ6M&sa=X&ei=krksULXLLOi30QXKmoC4DA&ved=0CIQBEPUBMAw&dur=163
