Scotch and Manchester Eggs
Koen and I had Scotch eggs for the first time in London earlier this month and they were so delicious we needed to recreate them immediately!
What is a Scotch egg? A hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, coated in bread crumbs and deep-fried.
Then we were looking up recipes and discovered the Manchester egg!
What is a Manchester egg? A pickled egg wrapped in sausage and blood pudding, coated in bread crumbs and deep-fried. Just so happens I pickled some eggs a month ago and had them in the fridge. We had to adapt the recipe because we didn’t have any blood pudding at home.
Yum!

Step One: Wrap your hard-boiled or pickled egg in sausage meat

Step Two: Roll the egg around in flour

Steps Three and Four: Dip in egg, then in bread crumbs (the small one are Manchester, the big one is Scotch)

Steps Four and Five: Deep fry and enjoy!
